  Reputed to have married 15 times. —— Reno Evening Gazette, Reno, NV; 25 Jun 1957 Pair Ordered to Leave Town Beverly J. Weins, 25 no local address given, was handed a choice of $100 fine or 100 days in jail by Judge Kirby Unsworth today, unless she leaves town by 4 pm. She pleaded guilty to a prostitution charge. Clarence Edward Dame, 40, who gave his address as the Red Rock Ranch, pleaded guilty to a charge of pandering. He was handed a choice of a $200 fine or 180 days in jail unless he leaves Reno by 4 pm. Police said the cab driver took Miss Weins to a local bar. There she was introduced to a “Mr. Jones.” Dame then registered the pair at a local hotel. But in the room Mr Jones identified himself as a Reno policeman, and arrested Miss Weins and Dame. —— Nevada State Journal, Reno, NV; 24 Aug 1955 Assault, Battery Trial Dropped As Charge Withdrawn All was quiet on the taxicab front yesterday after the Reno municipal court approved dismissal of assault and battery charges against Victor Whittlesea. Whittlesea, a prominent Reno cab company owner, has been free on $150 bail ever since he was accused of punching Clarence Dame, a driver for a rival company, in front of a Center St. hotel. The incident reportedly occurred when Dame's cab accidentally nudged a cab into which Mr. Whiitlesea was loading passengers. Request for dismissal of the charges was made by Mr. Dame and approved by acting Municipal Judge Kirby Unsworth —— Nevada State Journal, Reno NV; 9 Oct 1952 Men Who Allegedly Walked Off With Friend's Gaming Winnings Are Held in Vegas Two men who are formally charged with embezzlement, and informally with being minus any semblance of gratitude, are being held in Las Vegas for Reno authorities. They are John Hanneman and William John Michael. The pair are charged by Clarence Dame, local hotel resident, with walking off with his suitcase and his gaming winnings after he had befriended them and bought them hotel accomodations (sic). Mr. Dame told police last September 29 that his two "friends" and he were in a downtown club together. Mr. Dame left the club briefly, asking the pair to keep an eye on his gambling chips. When he returned, he said, the chips and the two men had disappeared. Subsequent investigation revealed they had checked out of the hotel, taking his grip along with them. It is expected that Hanneman and Michael will be returned here to face charges. —— Reno Evening Gazette, Reno, NV; 13 Jul 1943 Eastern Officer Takes Prisoner Clarence Dame, arrested in Reno late in April on a charge of issuing fraudulent checks, complete seventy-five days of a ninety-day sentence in the county jail Monday and last night was en route to Worcester, Mass., to stand trial for alleged illegal activities in connection with an automobile transaction. Dame is being returned to Worcester by an officer of that city on a warrant issued by the governor of Massachusetts and presented to the governor of Nevada.
