    • ORIGIN: Unknown.
      MIGRATION: 1635 on the Hercules of Sandwich (on 17 March 1634/5, "Symon Sutton," a servant in the household of William Hatch, was enrolled at Sandwich as a passenger for New England on the Hercules [NEHGR 75:219]).
      FIRST RESIDENCE: Scituate.
      OCCUPATION: Planter [PCR 2:68].
      FREEMAN: Oath of fidelity at Scituate, 15 January 1644[/5] [PCR 1:183].
      OFFICEHOLDING: In Scituate section of 1643 Plymouth Colony list of men able to bear arms [PCR 8:191].
      BIRTH: By 1627 (based on appearance in 1643 list of men able to bear arms).
      DEATH: After 20 July 1648 [PCR 12:162].
      MARRIAGE: None recorded.
      CHILDREN: None recorded.
      ASSOCIATIONS: Almost certainly closely related to GEORGE SUTTON , also a passenger on the Hercules.
      COMMENTS: On 18 January 1643/4, "Symon Sutton of the same [Scituate], planter," was surety for James Till [PCR 2:68]. On 7 June 1648, "[i]n the action of debt due from Thomas Howell to Simon Suton, the jury find for the plaintiff the debt and the charges of the Court" [PCR 2:126].
      On 25 May 1641, "Symon Sutton" witnessed the will of Nathaniel Tilden [MD 3:220, 222, citing PCPR 1:37]. On 20 July 1648, "Simon Suttun❞ witnessed a Scituate deed [PCR 12:162]. [2]
