  • Notes
    • Prescott, a High Son of Liberty, joined them for their planned ride to Concord. Along the way, a patrol of British soldiers attempted to stop them. Revere was captured, and Dawes was thrown by his horse and ended up walking back to Lexington. Prescott, familiar with the landscape, made his escape by taking his horse off of the road, and brought the vital news to Concord.
Later in the Revolutionary War, he joined the crew of a privateer, but was captured by the British and taken to a prison camp in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was there he died and was probably buried in an unmarked grave.
