- Joseph Hamblen and Hannah Whitney were married 15 Apr. 1755 in Gorham, ME [Andrews, 1894, p. 129].
He lived on the hundred acre lot 42, below Gorham village [Andrews, 1894, p. 129; McLellan, p. 534]. His house was on the high land over the brook on the north side of thelot, near Queen street, near the route usually traveled by the Early Settlers through the woods in going from the Fort to Falmouth (Portland) [Andrews, 1894, p. 129; McLellan, pp. 534-535]. The Hamblen brook at that time was a larger stream than now, crossed by a foot log [Andrews, 1894, p. 129; McLellan, p. 535].

Joseph Hamblen died 17 June 1763 in Gorham, ME [VR Gorham ME, p. 179; Andrews, 1894, p. 129; McLellan, p. 535; NEHGR, Vol. 105, p. 62], and was buried at Fort Hill Cemetery, Gorham, ME.
