    • Jeremiah took the oath of allegiance in 1681; was a constable in 1679; served frequently on the grand jury; was a Representative in 1692; joined with the selectmen to build the town house; and was a selectman in 1700. He was served summons on several occasion for retailing "strong drink" from 1693-1696, was sentenced for threats to shoot Major Hooke, constable of York, in 1694, and for abusing Mrs. Hooke. He was also a grandjuror from 1693-1697 and was a large property owner most of his life.
