    Phineas Parker, Pulteney. Born in Mansfield, Connecticut, July 2,1758. Enlisted September 9, 1776 at Windham county, Connecticut, in Colonel Experience Storr's regiment; marched by the way of Mansfield, Coventry, New Haven and Stamford to East Chester, NewYork; thence to New York Island, where they were stationed, near Fort Washington, two or three weeks; then crossed Kingsbridge and marched to Westchester; thence to White Plains, and was there at the battle. Discharged at North Castle December 11, 1776, and returned home; was drafted in the militia and served two months under Captain Wayles,stationed at New London, Connecticut. About July 4, 1780, enlisted in Captain James Dana's company, attached to Colonel Levi Well's regiment, stationed at New London and West Haven; discharged March 1,1781; was at the burning of New London two days, under Captain Eleazar Huntington. After the war he lived ten or twelve years in Mansfield, Connecticut; thence he went to Utica, New York, where he lived nineteen years; then removed to Pulteney, Steuben County, New York. Captain Joseph Wood & Sons and John Roundy (Sr) came and Settled at Bluehill Bay before the land was either granted or layed out.

      Capt Phineas Parker commanded a company of artificers (craftsmen), formerly commanded by Capt Benjamin Pollard, under Jeduthan Baldwin, Colonel of Engineers and Lt Col Commandant of Artificers.
