      ——
In 1520, James Arbuthnott, 13th laird Arbuthnott, finding himself in poor health was granted permission in November to make a pilgrimage to St John of Ameance in France to seek a healing cure. The pilgrimage was unsuccessful. He left a will dated 7 March 1521, and was dead before 13 March of the same year. [1]
