    • Samuel served in the Revolutionary war. He was a captain of the militia in his own town. After the war he moved from Ipswich, MA to Whitefield, Lincoln Co., ME. They settled in a wilderness and began life by cutting the forest to make a clearing. On this location they made a house and raised their family and lived and died, Samuel at age 88, Sarah at 92.
