• Notes

  His place of residence during the American Revolution was Conway, NewHampshire, athough both he and his wife, Jane Knox, lived their lastyears in Quebec, Canada, where they died. They were married in Quebec, soit would appear that Jane was living in Quebec, although her family wasfrom Boston, which provides some confusion. They returned to Quebec intheir later years and both died there. Records at the Conway, New Hampshire Library show that in April of 1794Josiah was named as "Ensign Josiah Dolloff." He served in the Revolutionary War as a Private in Capt. David Page's Company, from Conway, New Hampshire, enlisting on June 10, 1775. Josiah was a Patriot, a signer of Association Test, June 9, 1776, in Conway, New Hampshire.
