  • Notes
    • In 1933, during the Depression, Tobi worked for an agency. Freddie was the boss's secretary. He wanted her to go to Canada for the summer, but her mother wouldn’t let her. They honeymooned in the Gas Bay Peninsula. They stopped at Sandy Cove and then crossed the St. Lawrence. They stayed with a sea captain's wife.

The name Morton was picked by the doctor. His family sometimes called him Morty, but he hated it. He broke his elbow while roller skating at age 10. At 14 he worked at the Snow and Snow Brokerage House. He made $8 per week. During the summer of 1929, he traveled to France where he studied at Collorossi School of Art in Paris. His work included illustrated covers for 'Mode', 'Smart Age', 'Review of Reviews', as well as work for 'Harper's Bazaar' and 'The NY Times'. In 1944, due to ill health, he retired from his commercial art career. He and Freddie moved to Lumberville, PA. They opened an antique shop, 'The House of Tobys'. His works have been exhibited in galleries in NYC, New Jersey, PA, Mexico, and Canada.
