      F.L. Orcutt is identified as 1 of 9 Patrons of the Iowa State Atlas residing in Sheridan Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa

      Ruth Orcutt Braley (dau of Jay Reginald Orcutt, grdau of F.L. Lewis) wrote the following on the back of a photograph of Lewis Orcutt taken in Rome New York: "Lewis came from New York state to Tama County, Iowa around 1860 in a covered wagon to homestead. He owned a farm and married Anna Hartzell. Lewis had 4 children by his first wife (Roxy): Frank, Charlie, DeEtta and Roxy. Lewis had 3 children by his second wife, Anna D. Hartzell: Lewis P., Helen, and Jay Reginald Orcutt. Both Lewis P. and Helen died in childhood. Jay was about 3 years old when his father died and was buried in the family plot in the Sheridan Cemetary. Following Lewis' death, Anna Hartzell married William Wrage and had a daughter Vera Wrage [Haines]".
