    • He recalled: "I was given a team to plow with in April, 1877. I was nine years old but made a hand on the farm." Received his M.D. probably from Marion Symes Medical College in St. Louis, 1897. Practiced medicine in Saunemin, IL where he helped introduce cooperative telephone company, granary, and waterworks.
