    • Francis and his brothers Edward and Samuel plied their trade at the mast-yard in Dover, with Francis styling himself a carpenter. He is credited with work on the Maybury Bridge. For a number of years his place of residence is uncertain, it may have been at Portsmouth, but as early as 16 Feb 1702 he was in Truro, MA on Cape Cod, when the proprietors voted to admit him the privileges of Truro provided he buy land and settle there on.
