  • Notes
    • George Morgan Sabin died at his home, just north of this village, on Thursday last, in his 85th year. He had a remarkably vigorous old age until within the past few months. For the last 18 days of his life he was unable to take the slightest nourishment. Mr Sabin was born a t Guildhall, VT and was one of a family of 12 children. He came to Malone 66 years ago with his parents and has resided here ever since--engaging in the occupation of lumbering & farming . He was a man of a great deal of energy, of considerable shrewdness, and his opinions were u sually radical and vigorously held and maintained. He was the oldest member but one of the Congregational Church of Malone, and was a citizen of public spirit, commanding general respect and esteem. Fifty seven years ago he was united in marriage with Almena S Orcutt, who survives him. His only son--he had no daughters--is George Sabin, a well known citizen of this village. George was a lumberman and farmer, became a major in the old militia.
