  • Notes
    • She was captured by a war party of Abernaki Indians in a raid at Oyster River, NH in August of 1689. Her husband James was killed along with 17 other men who were nearby the garrison working in the field. Her Son Robert was also captured, but escaped the following day. Sarah was held captive until 1691 when she was rescued by a combined force under "Col Church". She returned to Oyster River, married again (Capt. John Woodman) on October 17, 1700, and lived out her life. She did not have any more children. Of interesting note - she once again survived an Indian attack during the more famous Oyster River Massacre of July 18, 1694. [3]
