  On 21 January 1652/3, Washington was buried at Maldon, Essex, in All Saints' Church. He had died in poverty, leaving an estate of insufficient value to require the issuance of letters of administration. His widow, Amphyllis, was buried at Tring, Hertfordshire 12 Jan. 1654/5.
