By this will his wife Martha was to have the income of one-third of the real estate, notwithstanding he had deeded it all to his sons. She, with sons Thomas and Samuel, to be executors. He mentions sons John, William, Thomas and Samuel, and daughters Phebe (who had married Theophilus Fisk and they gave their receipt for their portion Dec. 4, 1713), Martha (who had married Benj. Bigsby or Bixby and their receipt was dated Dec. 1, 1713), and Sarah Lamson (who had married Paul Faulkner of Andover, Mass., before Jan. 18, 1714/5, when they gave a receipt for their legacy in the will).

  John Lamson, the eldest son of William Lamson, lived in Ipswich and owned a large farm there. His name appears on a list of Freeman of Ipswich, May 27, 1674, and also on, "a list of those who took the oath of Alegance of Ipswich town before the worshipfull Major Gen Denison, Esq., the 11th of December 1678." Again his name appears on "the list of those that by law are allowed to have there votes in Town affairs. Voted to be recorded at the Towne meeting, December the 12th, 1679. . . ."
