John Finney, his brother Robert, and two sisters, Katherine and Anne first appeared in Plymouth Colony in the 1630's, along with their aged mother whose name is unknown. The Finney family was most likely from the parish of Lenton, Nottinghamshire, where a family matching their description in all aspects is found.
His mother was referred to only as "Mother Finney", and she died Apr 22, 1650 at Plymouth, older than 80 years of age. [4, 5, 6]
