    • Kimball was a man of noble presence and splendid physique.
      In the name of God amen I Kimball Carlton of Hardin County in the
      State of Ky being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind memory
      and understanding conscedering the chertainty of death and the
      uncertainty of the time thereof and being desorous to settle myworldly
      affairs and thereby be better prepared to leave this world. Where it
      shall please God call me hence - To there fore make orders and publish
      that is to say First and principal I commit my soul unto the hand of
      hand of my benefactor and creator and my body to the earth to beburied
      at discretion of my hereafter named executrix and after my lawfulldebts
      are paid I give devise and bequeath the balance of my whole estateboth
      real and personal to my beloved wife Elizabeth Carlton during hernatural
      life and after her decease it is my wish and will that my son Johnhave
      peacable possion of the tract of Land whereon I now live for reasons
      obvious to myself the residue of my estate to be equally divided among
      four of my other children namely Rachel Hiram Henry Eda. My son JamesI
      give and desire one dollar in consequence of my having given him moreat
      me than I did the others. I wish it be understood that out of the outof
      the above balance after willing the tract of to my son John that I
      bequeth unto grand daughter Elizabeth who we have raised and is now
      living with us one cow and calf one ewe and lamb and lastly I dohereby
      consititute and appoint my wife Elizabeth to be sole executrix of thismy
      last will and testiment revoking and annuling all former wills by mehere
      unto made ratifying and confirm this and none other to be my last will
      and testement. In Testemony whereof I have hereunto sat my hand and
      affixed my seal this 22nd day of March 1832.

      Signed sealed and published we declared Kimball Carlton the abovenamed
      Testator and for his last will and testament in the presence of (?)who
      at her request in his presence and in the names as witness write.
      Benjamin Singleton Joseph Bowley at county court began and held for
      Hardin at county at the court house in Elizabethtown on Monday the 19of
      November 1832. The within Instrument of writing purporting to be the
      last will and testiment of Kimball Carlton deceased was produced incourt
      and proven of by the oath of Benjamin Singleton and Josoph Bowley tobe
      the last will and testement of the said Kimball Carlton and the saidwill
      was established and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon I truly recorded
      the same this 25 of Decmeber 1832
