  After 1842 moved from Jefferson county, New York to the northern part of St.Lawrence county, New York, then the wilderness. After several years moved west, arriving at Point Douglas on the steamer Luella, Sept.28 1853. Jan 1854 they pre-empted a claim 4 miles west of Hastings in the township of Nininger, residing there until 1867 when they moved to Hastings.
