    • Ebenezer Byram Sr. and Ebenezer Byram Jr. were involved in a number of land transactions in eastern TN after 1800. Various records suggest that Ebenezer Jr. moved to Madison, AL before 1809. Whether Ebenezer Sr. stayed in TN or possibly moved to AL and returned to TN is not clear. An Ebenezer Byram was involved in deeds in Knox, in 1810, 1813, 1814,1815, and 1820. The 1814 deed clearly identifies Ebenezer Sr. as the grantor. There is then a 1826 tax list entry for Ebenezer Byram, 20 acres with one slave. He is not listed in 1827 and that is the last record that we have of him. John Byram, the great grandson of Ebenezer Sr. wrote in a letter 9 Dec 1877 that Ebenezer died in Knox, TN.

      Ebenezer Byram of the County of Knox in the Territory of the United States of America sells to LEWIS CLEEK of the County of Washington in the said Territory of the other part -- for the sum of $200 to him in hand paid --200 acres --said land lying and being in the County of Washington and laying on a small branch of Little Limestone Creek -- corner in James Grymes line -- according to the courses in the original Grant to me assigned
