    • Lucius Howard lived in Randolph, became proprietor of the "Howard House' in that place in 1848, and gave it its present name. It had previously been called "Randolph Inn." The house was then about one hundred years old. He subsequently moved to Canton, and kept a hotel there. From there he went to Abington, and kept the "King House." He removed to Chicago, IL, in 1855, where he kept a hotel. Returned to Massachusetts in 1862, and kept the "Great House" at Marion.
