      Excerpts from the obituary of Kenneth B. Orcutt
      Died June 17, 1965

      The Plainfield community paid a reluctant but fond and honorable farewell Saturday afternoon, June 19, to a life-long resident who had served the town and his employers well. He was Kenneth B. Orcutt, office manage for Roach Farms, Inc. who died about 4.15 a.m. Thursday,June 17, at the Veterans' hospital in Iowa City after a prolonged illness. He was 62.

      Burial was in Willow Lawn cemetery, where a color guard furnished by the American Legion post paid military honors.

      He served as Mayor in the early 1930's. In the business world, he worked for many years as office manager for J. Roach Sons, and then worked as office manager of Roach Farms Inc., until his last hospitalization. He also conducted the Orcutt Paint store for many years. The chronological record states that Kenneth B. Orcutt was born December 17, 1902, at Plainfield, the s/o C.M. and Mayme Orcutt. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by an only sister, Mrs. Russell (Helen) Meyers ofGreene; two nieces, Mrs. Joe Miller and Mrs. Steve Brandt, both of Allison; an aunt, Miss Lewtie Krieger of Plainfield.

      He was a member of the First Baptist church of Plainfield; graduated from Plainfield high school in 1920, and served as a photographer in the Navy for three years during World War II. He was a member of the Plainfield Legion Post and other community groups.
