      PLAINFIELD- Marshall Western Orcutt was born in Wheatland ill., Feb. 25,1860, and died at his home in Plainfield, Saturday morning, Mar. 14, 1931, at the age of 71 years and seventeen days. He was the oldest s/o Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Orcutt, who preceded him in death several years ago. When he was three years old, he came with his parents from illinois to Iowa, settling on a farm near Plainfield. Here he grew to manhood and lived until October 1919, when he moved to the farm where he died. He leaves to mourn his death, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Smull, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Ada Boggs, Plainfield, and five brothers, Clarence, Arthur, William, and Sanford, Plainfield, and Charles of Long Beach, Calif. Two sisters, Mrs. Flora Annis, and Mrs. Betsey Robinson and one brother, Edward, preceded him in death. He leaves besides these and other relatives, many friends who will be greatly grieved at his sudden passing. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his neighbors and associates. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Monday afternoon, Mar.16, Rev Alfred Van Benschoter officiating. Burial was made in the Willow Lawn cemetery. Four brothers and two nephews acted as pall bearers. The deceased served several years as Mayor of Plainfield and was greatly loved and esteemed by all.
