  Obituary ORCUTT - At his home near Plainfield, August 28th, 1884, of consumption. John Dimmick Orcutt, age 62 years, 2 months and 16 days. Deceased was born in Henrietta County, New York June 12th, 1822, was married April 23 (????), to Hannah Bassom and was the father of eleven children all of whom are still living. Mr. O. was a resident of Iowa many years, coming to Bremer at an early day. He was a great sufferer during the latter week of his illness, but bore the pain with markedfortitude and died at last (com????) his family to the protection of God.
