    • Robert worked for the ND Highway Dept., as a Civil Engineer. When he married they lived in the home of his wife's father in Mandan, ND. After WWII broke out, he and his wife and four son's moved to Great Falls, MT. in 1942, He was a City Engineer in Great Falls. After his oldest son Robert Jr. was killed in the Koren War, the family removed to Bellevue, WA, and started a home building business called R.E.McCormick & Sons, with sons Jim and Terry. Later he became City Manager of Bellevue, WA, and then Dir. of Public Works untill he retired in 1974. In 1978 the City of Bellevue named a Park in his honor for all the good work he accomplished for the city. He was a person who got things done, and in a good way. He removed to Honolulu, HI in 1983 with his son Terry, and after he died in 1988 he was cremated and with the ashes of his wife Josephine they were put in the "Robert E. McCormick Park" in Bellevue, WA, in that part of the Park at NE 12th St. and 112th Ave. NE.
