    • James (5) Orcutt was born the 23rd of July, 1781 in Granville, New York while his father, James(4), was still in the Continental Army and stationed at Skenesborough a few miles north of Granville. After the end of the war, James(4), with his family moved to Westfield, New York. Westfield was later to be renamed Hartford. That year James and family moved to Aurelius, Cayuga,, N.Y, where James (4) died 1804.
      While living at Aurelius James (5) met Asenath Wheaton who lived inFosterville in the same county. Asenath's parents were some of the first settlers in that area. Asenath was born August 18, 1785 in Conn. the daughter of Andrew Jr and Avis Ormsby Wheaton. Avis Ormsbee, or Ormsby, was the daughter of Jacob Jr. and Mary Barney Ormsbee.
