• Notes

  In 1735 he was called John Folsom, Jr. and lived "east of the road from Exeter to Kensington; was a house carpenter, skillful with tools, but not familiar wit h books. He is said to have kept his accounts by notches made in his timbers." He bought land in Gilmanton in 1735, and in Chester in 1737, probably the part now Raymond; he removed to Raymond where his children lived about 1770. He dee ded to son John 30 acres, of "the north easterly part of the Lott I now live on ," and "also one half of my Dwelling house at the West end; also one third par t of the barn at the Easterly end." on 28th April 1785, John Folsom of Raymond, gentleman, for one hundred pounds deeded to his son Eliphalet "all my Land and Buildings Lying Standing and being in Raymond, Öcontaining 25 acres,Ö and als o all my Personal Estates without doors and in, being whatsoever and wheresoeve r, Except the household goods that my Present wife brought with her when I mari ed her to my house."
