14. | Ens John HOWARD was born about 1653 in prob Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts; died in 1690 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Other Events:
Notes: John HOWARD, Sr. has often been confused with with his son and many genealogies have often confused his offspring with his son's and vice versa. To confuse things even more, John HOWARD's surname has often been spelled as HAWARD. Add to this some genealogies give him 2 separate wives (Sarah LATHAM and her sister Susanna LATHAM) while other claim there was only 1 wife named Sarah Susanna LATHAM. Finally certain genealogies give him 2 sons both named John while others combine the son into one person named John HOWARD, Jr. After checking over 20 separate sources, I believe I have the correct parent with the corect children. John married Susanna LATHAM about 1680 in E Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Susanna (daughter of Robert LATHAM and Susanna WINSLOW) was born about 1656 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts; died before Jun 1703 in Marshfield, Plymouth, Massachusetts. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] |
15. | Susanna LATHAM was born about 1656 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts (daughter of Robert LATHAM and Susanna WINSLOW); died before Jun 1703 in Marshfield, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Notes: There is some dialog that Sarah and Susanna are a case of mistaken identity. The Chilton, More, Rogers volume takes the position that Susanna is the preferred identity, and that Sarah may have been a later wife--as shown in a deed. Some say that Sarah was a middle name.
