Mrs. John F. Dodds
Sallie C. Keck, daughter of Henry and Mary Nixon Keck, was born on a farm near Utica, Van Buren county, Iowa, August 27, 1863, and passed away at her home in Harrisburg township. She was the last surviving member of the Henry Keck family and at the time of her death had attained a greater age than any of her deceased brothers and sisters, who are as follows; Ella J., Anna Bell Easter, Elmer E. and Henry Judson Keck. When a young woman she was converted and united with the Harrisburg Baptist church and remained a faithful, earnest member and as long as her health and strength permitted she participated in all its activities. She was a member of the Harrisburg Mission Circle and the Altruistic Club.
On Dec. 21, 1881, she was united in marriage with John F. Dodds, who preceded her in death on May 12, 1936. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive. They are Harry J. of Bonaparte, Mrs. Arthur Barker (Mary) of Keosauqua, Ralph L. living on the home farm, and Donald K. of Albia. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and by a host of other relatives and friends.
During her lingering illiness she was tenderly cared for by her son, Ralph, and family.
In her home she was hospitable, and in her community, kind and sympathetic. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Harrisburg Baptist church, Rev. C. H. Orf of Keosauqua officiating. Interment in Harrisburg Cemetery.
We desire to thank the neighbors and friends for their kindness and to express our appreciation of sympathy extended in our bereavement.
Harry J. Dodds, Mrs. Arthur Barker, Ralph L. Dodds and Donald K. Dodds.
